Traditional and photojournalistic wedding photography
styles represent two extremes in today's world of wedding
photography. Many photographers incorporate some of both of
these styles. Additionally, there is another style that some
photographers are using that has its roots in fashion
photography and photographic storytelling. We refer to this as
the photo-illustrative style of wedding photography.
This style involves posed photographs that do not look all that
posed. So there is some control by the photographer as the
photographer suggests to the bride and groom various poses and
ways to walk, but a certain amount of spontaneity is left up to
the bride and groom. This is often a fun interaction that the
photographer has with the bride and wedding party.
Photo-illustrative photography adds in some very interesting
photographs that fit in well with modern, magazine style flush
mount albums where every page is a collage.
